With 91 boats entered, the Dalgety Challenge was a busy and colourful weekend, with lots of different types of boat taking part.

Local sailor Euan Hurter delivered a dominant performance to win the Dalgety Challenge, the final event of the 2025 Magic Marine SailJuice Challenge.

The event was held as part of the club's annual regatta, which saw a strong turnout. The regatta also incorporated the Scottish Musto Skiff Nationals and the D-Zero Scottish Championships, ensuring a high level of competition on the waters of the Firth of Forth.

Racing took place over two days, presenting sailors with a classic Scottish mix of weather conditions.

Day 1: Saturday, September 27

The first day was described as 'dreich' (a Scottish term for bleak and wet). Competitors faced a shifty southerly wind ranging from 5 to 12 knots, accompanied by intermittent rain and no sun.

In the fast handicap fleet, Euan Hurter in his Musto Skiff won the first and third races. The win in race two was claimed by Adam Ovington and Stu Keegan in their International 14.

Day 2: Sunday, September 28

In stark contrast, Sunday brought perfect sailing conditions with blue skies, bright sun, and a steady 6-10 knot westerly breeze.

Euan Hurter thrived in these conditions, demonstrating his skill and local knowledge. He sailed his Musto Skiff to victory in all three of the day's races, sealing his win not only in the Dalgety Challenge but also in the Scottish Musto Skiff National Championship.

The final standings for the Dalgety Challenge saw the Musto Skiff and International 14s lock out the podium.
