Radium Remediation

The Sailing Club via this page endeavours to provide it's members with a referenceable section on background material available regarding contamination on it's land. This is not expected to cover everything available.

The sailing club is actively engaged with SEPA, the MOD (DIO) and all other members of the Dalgety Bay forum and continues to work towards a permanent resolution of the contamination issue.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has developed a Q & A on the health issues around the contamination of the beach, which can be found at the following -

SEPA are investigating other ways to support the Sailing Club via HPA on communicating the health risks and the appropriate protection measures regarding the activities at the Sailing club.

The Sailing Club reminds all members that guidance for safe usage of the beach area has been issued in the form of signage posted around theĀ area and inside the club, stating that good hygiene procedure should be followed after leaving the beach area. A copy of the sign is in the list of documents below.
